‘He ain’t that old,’ I said. ‘All he needs is somebody to beat him up, and I ain’t big enough.’ This sentence represents Scouts immaturity. Throughout the book Scouts childlike perspective is shown. It relates to one theme of the novel, growing up, and helps emphasise it.
