Enamoured

"I looked down the street. Enamoured, upright, uncompromising, Aunt Alexandra was sitting in a rocking-chair exactly as if she had sat there every day of her life."
Enamoured means impressed or enthusiastic about something; charmed, love someone.
This shows that Aunt Alexandra, although her hard exterior, does care about Scout and her family and comes to think of their home as hers aswell. This sentence shows that she is making an effort and trying to understand and be apart of their world, although she might not agree with everything they do.
